Lefkada is a mountainous island with a luscious vegetation, especially in the east and south. The lee, decidous eastcoast, is beded with several small, rank islands. The westcoast is cliffy and has wide sandy beaches and forested bays.

The capital city Lefkada, is close to a lagoon. It features picturesque sights, with ist varicoloured wooden buildings and small twittens. You can take a boat trip of 1 hour to the leukadic rock, at the southcape of the island, from Vasiliki.

You may discover the island by car or mountainbike (both for rent in Vasikili). It is also nice taking a trip to Kefalonia, the biggest ionic island. The fairy goes from Vasikli to Fiskardo, a yacht- and fisher harbour. The village was spared from the earthquake in 1953. And preserved its typical appearance of an island village.
